What is a CROP hunger walk?
CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walk was originally created by Church World Service (CWS) in 1969 to help farmers overcome poverty. Since then CWS has raised over 15 million dollars to help raise awareness to overcome poverty and raise money to help ease the pain of hunger at home and all over the world. Our goal for the Bloomington-Normal CROP walk is to raise $20,000 with 25% of the money raised staying in McLean County and donated to area food banks and soup kitchens. Rest of the funds will go to CWS to help overcome and ease the pain of extreme poverty all over the world including Myanmar. Come and join us for fun and fellowship while walking to raising money help stop hunger in McLean County and abroad. For more information go www.cropwalkonline.org or www.churchworldservice.org. |
